Mission statement?
Critical Theory is grafted to your intellect in college. It's worth the lobotomy.
Critical Theory is an abdication of constructive thought, invented once the arguments for Marxism wore out. It seeks only to tear down the system without the trouble of defining what utopian “synthesis” results necessarily from an “antithetical” revolution.
My mission is to examine how well Hollywood adheres to its “critical” mission of the destruction of the West. Thematic anti-capitalist messages are easy to spot. The really good “critical theorists” of Hollywood are more concerned with tearing down the very structures of romantic fiction - like plot. It’s amusing to observe the ways in which they are forced to compromise their anti-aesthetic just to keep people watching; yet it’s depressing to know our trained writers are propagandists for an intellectually bankrupt philosophy, to some degree or other.
I hope that by criticizing the “critical theorists”, I don’t end up in their rabbit hole. Identifying a problem implies a need to fix it. We ought lay a strong foundation for new construction, after taking a wrecking ball to the old.
I may post shoddy work in an effort to avoid making the perfect the enemy of the good - my natural tendency. I make blanket generalizations and wild inferences, as humorous contrast to polite, boring, “non-judgmental” society. The contrast is worth some errors, I think.
I am my own worst critic, but you might be my best, so feel free exercise YOUR critical faculty by letting me know how and when I screw up.
